Doctor Scheier’s passion for providing a solution to his patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea began about eight years ago. With over thirty years of experience in treating patients at Advanced Family Dentistry, he has applied all of his expertise in orthodontics, family dentistry and TMJ treatment to his Dental Sleep Medicine practice.
Doctor Scheier is the only board-certified sleep apnea dentist on all of Cape Cod, holding the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. This governing body, considered the gold standard for clinicians treating sleep apnea, ensures the highest of standards for patient treatment are provided. Dr. Scheier is active in several local and national Dental Sleep Medicine societies and is constantly continuing his education.
Doctor Scheier’s knowledge of Sleep Disordered Breathing and Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome and how to apply that knowledge in a clinical setting affords the patient with the best possible treatment outcomes. His knowledge of how the system works also facilitates the patient’s physician as well as maximizing medical insurance reimbursement for the patient.
Dr. Scheier says:
“I am so incredibly rewarded by seeing the amount I can help people. I have had people tell me I have changed their lives. I have had people tell me that I am a hero. The fact of the matter is that the patient is the hero, and change their own life by committing to the treatment and giving me their trust and confidence. I can then be their guide to success. We do great things together.”

Dr. Bagdonas’ focus on helping patients breathe and sleep better grew out of her commitment to whole-person health—first as a registered nurse and now as a dentist practicing exclusively in dental sleep medicine. She helps adults with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea using a custom oral appliance (a CPAP alternative) designed for comfort, jaw/TMJ safety, and long-term success.
Dr. Bagdonas is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, the gold-standard credential for dentists treating sleep apnea. She earned her DDS from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and completed a General Practice Residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. She has completed hundreds of hours of advanced training focused on sleep-disordered breathing and TMJ-related care.
Her airway-focused approach includes a detailed evaluation of breathing, bite, and TMJ function, coordinating with your medical sleep provider to support objective verification of outcomes and a smooth care experience.
Dr. Bagdonas says:
“I’m inspired to help you breathe better at night and sleep well—because even small improvements in sleep can create a ripple effect: more energy, clearer thinking, greater calm, and better overall wellness. My goal is to guide you with clear steps, thoughtful care, and a plan you can stick with—so you can sleep better and feel your best.”
